NEW DELHI: Copper prices fell further by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today on stockists selling in tandem with a weak global trend.

Traders said stockists selling in tune with a weak global trend after data showed that first-half expansions in most provinces in China missed targets, raising concern that demand growth may slow in the world's largest consumer, mainly influenced the sentiment.

Meanwhile, copper fell 0.2 per cent to USD 6,866.50 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap fell further by Rs 2 to 400 per kg.

The following are today's metal rates per kg: Zinc ingot 109-115, nickel plate (4x4) 1,024-1,027 gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 400, chadri deshi 285.
