Crude oil futures prices today fell by 0.92% to Rs 6,651 per barrel, after speculators reduced exposures amid a subdued trend in Asian trade ahead of US stockpiles data.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October fell by Rs 62 or 0.92%, to Rs 6,651 per barrel in 1,198 lots.
The oil for September delivery moved down by Rs 58, or 0.86% to Rs 6,651 per barrel in a turnover of 14,065 lots.
Analysts said the fall in crude oil at futures trade was mostly in tune with a weakening trend in the Asian region as traders await fresh US stockpiles data and Federal Reserve mintues from its July policy meeting.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for October delivery shed 28 cents to $104.83 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in morning trade today.
