The Indian nickel cash price saw the biggest increase at 2.6% for Thursday, August 22nd 2013. On the LME, however, the nickel spot price fell 0.8% to USD 14,445 per tonne.
The 3 month price of nickel saw a 0.7% decline on the LME to USD 14,550 per metric tonne. Chinese stainless steel prices were mixed for the day. The price of Chinese ferro chrome continues hovering in place for the fifth day in a row. The price of Chinese ferro moly was unchanged. The price of Chinese primary nickel fell 0.5%. For the fifth consecutive day, the prices of Chinese 304 and 316 stainless coil and scrap held flat.
