KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit extended yesterday's upward momentum to close firmer against the US dollar today on the back of improved market sentiment, dealers said.
The ringgit was quoted at 3.2830/2865 for a US dollar against yesterday's close at 3.3120/3150.
A dealer said emerging currencies including the ringgit recovered as easing geopolitical tension in Syria coupled with improving US economic data faded away worries among investors.
Meanwhile, the ringgit was traded higher against all other major currencies.
