BS:Nickel, tin drop on lower demand

Nickel and tin prices dropped at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist selling amidst lower demand from alloy industries despite higher London Metal Exchange (LME) cues.

Elsewhere, select copper and aluminium edged down owing to lower offtake from consumer industries.

The industrial metals rallied at the LME, after data showed China's manufacturing sector expanding at the fastest pace in more than a year, burnishing the outlook for metals demand.

Tin dropped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,520 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,530.

Nickel fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,030 from Rs 1,035.

Aluminium ingots dipped by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 156 from Rs 159.

Copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar, and aluminium utensil scrap softened by a rupee per kg each to Rs 521, Rs 465, Rs 549 and Rs 125, respectively.

However, brass sheet cutting inched-up by a rupee per kg to Rs 355.
