RTTN:Eurozone Producer Prices Increase For Second Month
Industrial producer prices in euro area increased for a second consecutive month in July, data published by Eurostat revealed Tuesday.
The producer price index of the industrial sector, excluding construction, rose 0.2 percent year-on-year in July following a 0.3 percent increase in June. Economists had forecast a 0.1 percent rise.
The producer price index for intermediate goods fell 0.5 percent annually in July. In the energy sector, prices declined 0.6 percent. Capital goods industry recorded a 0.5 percent increase in producer costs.
Durable consumer goods manufacturers saw an increase of 0.6 percent and in the non-durables' industry, PPI increased 2.2 percent from a year earlier.
On a monthly basis, the overall PPI increased 0.3 percent after a flat reading in June. The consensus was for an increase of 0.1 percent.
