ET:Select base metals rise on global cues
 
NEW DELHI: Select base metal prices rose by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today on stockists buying influenced by a firming global trend.

Traders attributed the rise in base metal to a firm global trend on easing concern that a conflict in Syria would hurt a global recovery after US President Barack Obama called for a pause in authorising military strikes.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months advanced 0.6 per cent to 7,210 dollar a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4) recovered by Rs 2 each to Rs 430 and Rs 1,045-1,046 per kg, respectively, Lead ingot and lead imported traded higher by the same margin to Rs 150 and Rs 148 per kg, respectively.

The following are today's metal rates per kg: Zinc ingot 115-121, nickel plate (4x4) 1,045-1,046 gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 430, chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 150, lead imported 148, aluminium ingots 148, sheet cutting 149, aluminium wire scrap 151 and aluminium utensils scrap 148.
