ET:Silver futures marginally up on spot demand

NEW DELHI: Silver prices traded marginally higher by 0.12 per cent to Rs 48,216 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions on expectations of a rise in demand for the wedding season.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December rose by Rs 57, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 48,216 per kg in business turnover of 2,745 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in March edged up by Rs 31, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 49,724 per kg in 69 lots.

Analysts said speculators indulged in creating fresh positions on expectations of a rise in demand during the wedding season mainly led to rise in silver prices at futures trade.
