The international crude oil price of Indian basket declined marginally 0.10% to USD 104.87 a barrel (bbl) on Nov. 6, 2013. This was lower than the price of USD 104.98/bbl which prevailed on the previous trading day of Nov. 5, 2013.
In rupee terms however, the crude oil price increased to Rs 6,493.55 a bbl on Nov. 6, 2013 as compared to Rs 6,486.71 /bbl on Nov. 5, 2013. This was due to rupee depreciation which wiped out the gains from fall in price in dollar terms.
Rupee-dollar exchange rate on Nov. 6, 2013 was Rs 61.92/USD against Rs 61.79/bbl on previous trading day of Nov. 5, 2013.
