By Saumya Vaishampayan
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The dollar took a breather from yen gains on Tuesday as investors looked ahead to Friday's jobs report and its implications for the Federal Reserve's bond-buying program. The dollar USDJPY -0.40% fell to ¥102.58 from ¥103.08 late Monday, when it pushed above ¥103 for the first time since May. On Thursday, monetary-policy decisions are due from the Bank of England and the European Central Bank. The euro EURUSD +0.35% rose to $1.3574 from $1.3537 late Monday and the British pound GBPUSD +0.41% gained to $1.6410 from $1.6351. The ICE dollar index, a gauge of the greenback's strength against six rivals, fell to 80.688 from 80.918 late Monday.
