LCU:Euro Strengthens After ZEW Survey Results, Eurozone Inflation Data
BRUSSELS (Alliance News) - Results of German ZEW economic confidence survey showed that the economic confidence rose 62.0 in December from 54.6 in the previous month. Economists expected the economic confidence index to come in at 55 in December, up from 54.6 in November.
Eurozone ZEW economic confidence improved to 68.3 in December from 60.2 in the previous month.
Eurozone inflation rose 0.9% in November, in line with estimates and matched the flash estimate of 0.9%.
The euro strengthened against its major counterparts after the data. As of 5:05 am ET, the European shared unit was trading at 1.3769 against the greenback, 141.76 against the yen, 0.8447 against the pound and 1.2213 against the Swiss franc.
