LSE: Dollar Little Changed After Chicago PMI; Eying US Consumer Confidence Index
 
LONDON (Alliance News) - Results of Chicago region's manufacturing survey showed that the headline index eased to 59.1 in December from 63.0 in November. The consensus estimates called for a decline in the index to 61.3 in December.
The US dollar was little affected by the report and was trading at 1.3774 against the euro, 1.6540 versus the pound, 0.8908 against the Swiss franc and 104.92 against the yen around 9:47 am ET.

Looking ahead, the Conference Board is due to release the results of its consumer confidence index for December at 10:00 am ET. Economists expect the consumer confidence index to improve to 76.8 from 70.4 in November.
