Eurostat is set to issue flash inflation figures at 5:00 am ET. Consumer price inflation is expected to remain at 0.9 percent year-over-year in December, while producer prices are predicted to fall 1.3 percent year-on-year in November.
The euro showed mixed performance ahead of the data. While the common currency edged higher against the Swiss franc, it held steady against the rest of majors. As of 4:55 am ET, the euro was trading at 1.3625 against the dollar, 142.15 against the yen, 0.8310 against the pound and 1.2357 against the Swiss franc.
