MC:Ringgit gains against US dollar in morning trade
KUALA LUMPUR - The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar, in early trading Monday, lifted by continued buying support for the local unit, dealers said.
At 9.15 am, the ringgit was quoted at 3.2940/2970 vis-a-vis a greenback against Friday's 3.3030/3070.
The ringgit opened mostly higher against other major currencies except the British pound. The local unit firmed against the Singapore dollar at 2.6151/6185 from 2.6189/6217 on Friday and gained against the yen to 3.2437/2483 from 3.2440/2490 previously.
The ringgit rose against the euro to 4.5174/5218 from 4.5259/5310 on Friday, however, it dipped against the British pound to 5.5257/5320 from last week's 5.5203/5278. – Bernama
