NEW DELHI: Copper prices declined by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous base metals market today on weak global trend.
Traders said sentiment turned bearish after copper dropped on concern that China's economic growth is slowing, weakening the outlook for demand from the world's biggest user of industrial metals.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months retreated 0.3 per cent to $7,177 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap shed Rs 2 to Rs 446 per kg.
The following are today's metal rates per kg: Zinc ingot 119-125, nickel plate (4x4) 1,065-1,066 gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 446, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 140, lead imported 138, aluminium ingots 146, Aluminium sheet cutting 147, aluminium wire scrap 149 and aluminium utensils scrap 146.
