KUALA LUMPUR - The ringgit closed lower against the US dollar today in thin trading, a dealer said.
At 5 pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.3060/3080 against the dollar from yesterday's close of 3.2930/2960.
The dealer said the ringgit could not make headway against the greenback despite the uncertainty surrounding the US economy.
The local note traded mixed against other major currencies.
It firmed up against the euro at 4.5276/5313 from Wednesday's close of 4.5292/5340, and was slightly higher against the British pound at 5.5038/5085 from 5.5049/5119.
However, the ringgit slid against the Singapore dollar at 2.6112/6134 from yesterday's close of 2.6094/6138, and softened against the yen at 3.2482/2517 from 3.2231/2266. - BERNAMA
