The official value of the shekel rose an average of .058 percent, Thursday, against most of the currencies on the Bank of Israel foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.517, up .171 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro declined .114 percent to 4.8203 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at 5.8579, up .132 percent, while 100 Japanese yen slipped .015 percent to NIS 3.4463. The Australian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.1586, down .416 percent, while its Canadian counterpart fell 1.057 percent to 3.1739 shekels, and the South African rand was fixed at .3173 shekels, down 1.06 percent.
