At 4:30 am ET Wednesday, the Office for National Statistics is scheduled to release second estimate for the fourth quarter GDP. According to preliminary estimate, U.K. GDP grew 0.7 percent sequentially in the fourth quarter
Ahead of the data, the pound showed mixed trading against other major currencies. While the pound advanced against the yen and the greenback, it held steady against the franc and the euro.
The pound was worth 1.6694 against the greenback, 1.4809 against the franc, 0.8238 against the euro and 170.83 against the yen as of 4:25 am ET.
