Copper prices weakened further in an otherwise limited trade at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to sustained stockist selling amidst poor demand from industrial users despite a recovery at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Elsewhere, brass and select aluminium rebounded on good demand from consumer industries.
The industrial metals regained at the LME, after plunging to multi-year lows in the previous session but concerns about China's economic slowdown could cap gains as investors await a fresh batch of data.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper wire bar dropped by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 482, Rs 476 and Rs 510 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 487, Rs 481 and Rs 515.
Copper armature dipped by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 471 as against Rs 475 previously.
Copper utensils scrap and copper sheet cutting also looked down by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 453 and Rs 469 from Rs 456 and Rs 472, respectively.
However, brass sheet cutting climbed by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 361 from Rs 358.
Brass utensils scrap moved up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 351 from Rs 349.
Aluminium ingots inched-up by Re 1 per kg to Rs 152.
