LCU:Indian Rupee Trades At Near 8-month High Against US Dollar
NEW DELHI (Alliance News) - The Indian rupee traded higher against the US dollar in evening deals on Wednesday as regional stocks gained on continued foreign fund inflows and firm global cues.
The benchmark 30-share S&P BSE Sensex ended the session up 40.09 points or 0.18% at 22,095.30, whereas the broader CNX Nifty index rose by 11.65 points or 0.18% to 6,601.40.
The rupee hit 60.065 against the greenback, its highest since August 2013, and was up 0.7% from yesterday's closing quote of 60.495. The next immediate upside target for the rupee lies around the 59 mark.
