Indian copper futures prices fell 0.14% to INR 405.45 per kilogram as speculators reduced positions in line with a weak trend in the global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June declined by 55 paise or 0.14% to INR 405.45 per kilogram in business turnover of 178 lots. Metal for delivery in April fell by 40 paise or 0.10% to INR 400.70 per kilogram in a business volume of 3,677 lots.
Analysts said that weakening trend in the global markets after US jobs data added to signs of slowing growth in the world's second biggest user amid increasing mine supplies, mainly put pressure on copper prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, gold for delivery in three months contracts fell 0.60% to USD 6,577.50 per tonne the lowest intra-day level since March 28, at the London Metal Exchange.
