KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 — The ringgit closed lower against the US dollar today after encouraging orders of US durable goods, dealers said.
At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.2690/2710 against the greenback, down from 3.2685/2705 at the close yesterday.
The dealer said the greenback strengthened after orders of US durable goods rose more than expected last month, indicating a boost in economic recovery.
The dealer said the ringgit was lower against a basket of major currencies. It fell against the Singapore dollar to 2.5994/5018 from 2.5980/5000 yesterday and dipped against the euro to 4.5223/4258 from
4.5213/4247.
Against the British pound, the ringgit was lower at 5.4949/4989 from 5.4865/4908, and depreciated against the yen to 3.1974/1009 from 3.1925/1948. — Bernama
