The official value of the shekel declined an average of .116 percent, Friday, against most of the currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.434, up .058 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro rose .109 percent to 4.6785 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at 5.8471 shekels, also up .058 percent, while 100 Japanese yen advanced .382 percent to NIS 3.3863. The Canadian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.2114, up .197 percent, while its Australian counterpart edged up .056 percent to 3.2336 shekels. The Norwegian krone was set at .5608 shekels, up .556 percent, and the South African rand rose .217 percent to NIS .3234.
