By Greg Robb
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The Treasury Department will auction $67 billion in notes and bonds next week in its quarterly refunding auctions, the government said Wednesday. Treasury said it decided to hold the size of the 2-and 3-year notes steady over the coming quarterly cycle. Treasury had trimmed the size of these notes over the past quarter. The department announced it will auction $27 billion in 3-year notes 3_YEAR -2.42% and $24 billion in 10-year notes 10_YEAR -1.77% . The government will also sell $16 billion in 30-year bonds 30_YEAR -1.34% . A Treasury official said there was little discussion of whether Treasury should consider issuing ultra-long bonds at its meeting on Tuesday with the Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee, a group of private sector market experts who give the government advice on debt management issues.
