MW: Treasurys rise on cease-fire news
 
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Treasury prices fell Wednesday morning after Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko said Ukrainian and Russian officials had agreed to a cease-fire in eastern Ukraine.

The U.S. Treasury 10-year yield 10_YEAR, +1.03% rose near the psychologically significant level of 2.46%, trading at 2.4520% Wednesday morning, from 2.42% late Tuesday. Yields move inversely to prices, rising as prices fall. The 2-year note yield 10_YEAR, +1.03% rose to 0.5320% Wednesday, from 0.53% Tuesday.

The U.S. 30-year bond yield 10_YEAR, +1.03% traded at 3.2030% Wednesday, from 3.18% Tuesday.

Yields for Germany’s bunds rose on the Ukraine peace news, with the benchmark 10-year bund TMBMKDE-10Y, +2.15% trading at 0.9530%, from 0.93% Tuesday.
