MW: Euro hits 14-month low against dollar on ECB rate cut
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — The euro hit its lowest rate against the greenback since July 2013 after the European Central bank cut its benchmark interest rate to 0.050% Thursday morning from 0.150%.
The euro EURUSD, -0.99% traded at 1.3016 against the dollar Thursday morning, from 1.3150 yesterday.
And it wasn’t just against the dollar that the euro was seeing rates fall. Against the pound. EURGBP, -0.82% , the euro was trading at 0.7922 pound Thursday morning, down from £0.7988 late yesterday and the euro also fell to 136.63 yen Thursday, from ¥137.90 Wednesday.
