MW: U.S. stock open higher, on track to end week with gains
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks opened marginally higher on Friday, with the S&P 500 within a point from its record closing level set on Dec 29. The main indexes were on track to end the second-straight week with gains. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.14% opened 1 point, or 0.1%, higher at 2,089.48 The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.17% added 10 points, or 0.1%, to 17,983. The Nasdaq Composite SPX, +0.14% gained 15 points, or 0.3%, to 4,8671.65
