KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 — The ringgit ended higher against the US dollar on recovery of crude oil prices due to reduced US crude inventories, a dealer said.
At 5pm, the local unit advanced against the US dollar to 3.6010/6030 from 3.6150/6180 yesterday.
Brent crude increased 23 cents to US$65.26 (RM234.94) per barrel today.
The ringgit was mixed against other major currencies.
It appreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.6974/6995 from 2.7032/7075 yesterday and rose against the yen to 2.9790/9816 from yesterday’s 2.9896/9928.
The local currency traded lower against the British pound at 5.6399/6441 from 5.6058/6119 yesterday and lower against the euro at 4.0169/0199 from 4.0155/0196 yesterday. — Bernama
