MW: U.S. stocks open slightly higher; Nasdaq hits record
U.S. stocks opened slightly higher on Tuesday, as investors assessed a reading on durable-goods orders, which came in weaker than expected and waited for more data on housing. However optimism about possible solution to Greece’s debt problems have been bolstering global equity markets. The Nasdaq Composite opened 9 points, or 0.2% to 5,163.29, setting a fresh intraday high. The S&P 500 opened 4 points, or 0.2%, higher at 2,127, flirting with records.
