FRANKFURT--The eurozone's current account surplus increased sharply in June, data from the European Central Bank showed Wednesday.
The current account balance, a broad measure of an economy's international financial position, showed a surplus of 25.4 billion euros in June, versus EUR19.1 billion in May. The June figure was the highest level of the surplus since March, when it was EUR26.7 billion.
Cumulated figures for the 12 months ending in June, showed the surplus at 2.6% of gross domestic product, compared with 1.8% a year earlier.
