MY: Canadian dollar, U.S. index futures slightly negative before North American open
TORONTO - The Canadian dollar and U.S. index futures showed little movement before North American stock markets opened Thursday.
The loonie was down about one-tenth of a U.S. cent, falling 0.12 to 75.80 cents US.
The Dow Jones industrial futures were down 27 points at 16,637.0, the S&P 500 futures declined 3.7 points to 1,984.3 and the Nasdaq futures lost 5.7 points to 4,375.3.
On the commodity markets, the December gold contract fell $3.10 to US$1,115.90 an ounce, the October crude contract was down 54 cents at US$46.61 a barrel and the October contract for natural gas was unchanged at US$2.68.
On Wednesday, the S&P/TSX index in Toronto gained 301.07 points or 2.24 per cent to close at 13,763.78, adding to a 109-point gain on Tuesday.
