VN: Canadian dollar, U.S. index futures up ahead of North American open
TORONTO - The Canadian dollar and U.S. index futures were slightly positive before the North American stock market open.
The loonie was up 0.01 of a cent at 77.40 cents US.
The Dow Jones industrial futures were up 61.0 points at 16,883.0, the S&P 500 futures advanced 11.0 points to 1,995.0 and the Nasdaq futures gained 26.5 points to 4,353.0.
On the commodity markets, the December gold contract rose $4.50 to US$1,184.30 an ounce, the November crude contract was down 42 cents at US$46.22 a barrel and the November contract for natural gas was up three cents at US$2.54.
On Wednesday, the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index ended the day up 30.60 points at 13,875.33.
