MW: Eurozone current account surplus narrowed in Oct.
FRANKFURT--The eurozone's current account surplus narrowed in October, data from the European Central Bank showed Friday.
The current account balance, a broad measure of an economy's international financial position, showed a surplus of 20.4 billion euros ($22.1 billion) in October in adjusted terms, down from EUR30.1 billion in September, the ECB said.
The data reflect surpluses for goods, services and primary income, which were partly offset by a deficit in secondary income. The surplus for goods was lower in October compared with September, as was the surplus for primary income. The surplus in services declined marginally, while the deficit for secondary income rose.
For the 12 months to October, the cumulated current account surplus represented 2.9% of eurozone gross domestic product, compared with 2.4% for the 12 months to October 2014.
