WINNIPEG, March 28 – The following is a glance at the news moving markets globally.
– The US dollar recovered slightly from its worst losses since November, underpinned by an announcement from the US Federal Reserve.
Fed officials have said they are still set to raise interest rates twice this year.
– Canadian marijuana stocks advanced sharply on Monday, after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the government intends to legalize the drug by Canada Day, 2017 (July 1).
Some shares, such as Canopy Growth Corp. gained more than ten per cent, while others saw a more modest high.
