RTRS: Dollar extends gains as US trade deficit narrows
The dollar extended gains versus the euro on Tuesday after a government report showed the U.S. trade deficit narrowed sharply in November.
The euro fell as low as $1.3229 after the data, and last traded down 0.8 percent on the day at $1.3263 .
The dollar also rose against the yen to 89.70, up 0.6 percent .
The U.S. trade deficit narrowed to $40.44 billion, from a revised $56.69 billion in October and below economists expectations of $51.30 billion, the U.S. government reported on Tuesday.
