MW: European shares snap five-session losing streak
 
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European shares snapped a five-day losing streak on Wednesday, led higher by oil producers such as BP , up 1.1%. Insurers and automakers were also performing well, with Allianz up 1.8% and Volkswagen up 1.4%. However, shares of banking group HSBC Holdings fell 3.4% after Morgan Stanley analysts said that they believe the bank will need to raise between $20 billion to $30 billion of capital and could halve its dividend. The Stoxx 600 index rose 0.1% to 201.81, while the German DAX 30 index rose 0.3% to 4,651.33 and the French CAC-40 index advanced 0.3% to 3,208.89. The U.K. FTSE 100 index fell 0.2% to 4,388.41.
