The Sensex pared some of its gains in the previous trading hour; but, continued to trade in the positive terrain. IT, oil & gas and metal stocks witnessed heavy buying activity.
BSE Midcap and Smallcap index rose 0.92% and 0.85% respectively.
Indian stock market belled the day on a positive note after a fall of 0.42% on the previous working day. The 30-share index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 136.16 points, at 9,207.52 on Wednesday.
