MW: U.S. stocks slammed by signs of recession; Dow down 250 pts
U.S. stocks dropped sharply on Wednesday, with the broad market hit by the latest confirmation of a deepening recession. The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 248.50 points to 8,200.06. The S&P 500 fell 26.53 points to 845.26, while the Nasdaq Composite declined 41.54 points to 1,504.92.
