MW: U.S. stock futures rise as government backs B. of A.
U.S. stock futures pointed to gains on Friday as the government said Bank of America is going to receive a $20 billion investment and get guarantees on another $118 billion asset pool. Citigroup and B. of A. also are due to report results, and the economic calendar includes consumer prices for December and University of Michigan consumer confidence. S&P 500 futures rose 13.6 points to 852.90, Nasdaq 100 futures rose 19.25 points to 1,196.50 and Dow industrial futures added 123 points.
