RTRS: European stocks trim losses after GE earnings
European stocks trimmed their losses on Friday but remained in the red after General Electric (GE.N) said fourth-quarter results were in line with its December outlook.
At 1146 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 index of top European shares was down 1.5 percent at 751.26 points.
Banks and insurers were among the biggest losers, beaten down by rising fears of hefty losses.
UK lender Barclays (BARC.L) was down 15 percent, Swiss Re (RUKN.VX) sank 15 percent, AXA (AXAF.PA) fell 5.7 percent and Allianz (ALVG.DE) shed 5.9 perecnt.
