Crude oil prices fell on the New York Mercantile Exchange on concerns of slowing demand and increasing stockpiles.
Crude oil inventories increased 6.2 million barrels in the week ending Jan. 23, U.S. Energy Information Administration said Wednesday. Stockpiles of 338.9 million barrels are "above the upper limit of the average range" for January, the report said.
Crude oil prices fell 96 cents Thursday to $41.20 per barrel. Heating oil prices fell 0.0059 cents to $1.4156 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline rose 0.0005 cents to $1.184 per gallon. Natural gas prices fell 0.005 cents to $4.415 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $1.843 Thursday, up slightly from Wednesday's $1.842 a gallon,
