Crude oil prices fell on the New York Mercantile Exchange during the weekend, as inventories remain high and demand shows signs of shrinking.
Crude oil prices fell $1.07 to $40.61 per barrel. Heating oil prices lost 0.0335 cents to $1.4005 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline fell 0.0334 cents to $1.2353 per gallon. Natural gas prices fell 0.117 cents to $4.30 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $1.88 Monday, up from Sunday's $1.867 a gallon, AAA said.
