RTRS: India copper futures edge up, led by overseas cues
India's copper futures edged up on Tuesday boosted by stronger-than-expected U.S. manufacturing data released overnight, but a stronger rupee may keep a lid on the gains later in the day, analysts said.
The benchmark February copper contract MCCG9 was 0.99 percent higher at 157.45 rupees per kg at 10:19 a.m., after falling more than 1 percent in the previous session.
"Copper would continue to remain choppy and rangebound," said an analyst with a commodity brokerage, adding the red metal may trade in the range of 153-160 rupees for the day.
At 10:19 a.m., February zinc MZIG9 was 1.01 percent higher at 55.10 rupees per kg, while February lead MLDG9 was 0.36 percent higher at 55.20 rupees per kg. (Reporting by Siddesh Mayenkar; Editing by Ramya Venugopal)
