The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Thursday morning. Gold rose.
The euro traded at US$1.2884, up from US$1.2856 late Wednesday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
-89.71 Japanese yen, up from 89.54
-1.1588 Swiss francs, up from 1.1584
-1.2269 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2318
The British pound was quoted at US$1.4554, up from $1.4461.
Gold traded in London at US$914.75 per troy ounce, up from US$US$905.00 late Wednesday.
