Select base metals, like copper and nickel, today strengthened further in the national capital and gained Rs 5 per kg on sustained buying by stockists in line with firming global trend.
Traders said sustained buying by stockists and report of rising trend at London Metal Exchange mainly led to rise in copper and nickel prices.
At wholesale market here, copper wire scrap, copper super-D-rod, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were remained in demand and added another Rs 2 each at Rs 225, Rs 247, Rs 252 and Rs 198 per kg respectively while nickel 4x4 edged up by Rs 5 to Rs 695-855 per kg.
