The Sensex continues to trade in the negative terrain on account of sustained selling seen in frontliners. Banking, consumer goods, realty and oil & gas stocks edged lower.
BSE Midcap and Smallcap index declined 0.44% and 0.21% respectively.
Indian stock market opened the day on a negative zone after a rise of 0.66% on the previous working day. The 30-share index, BSE Sensex opened with a loss of 185.33 points, at 9,462.14 on Wednesday.
In the previous day session, the Sensex settled with a gain of 63.58 points, or 0.66%, while the NSE Nifty climbed by 14.60 points, or 0.50%.
