MW: U.S. stocks retreat as investors focus on stimulus plan
U.S. stocks on Friday sputtered lower at the start, with traders tentative ahead of the long holiday weekend and as the House prepares to vote on an economic stimulus package. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 18.79 points to 7,913.97. The S&P 500 fell 3.8 points to 831.39. The Nasdaq Composite shed 5.12 points to 1,536.59.
