RTRS: US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Wall St rises on bargain hunting
U.S. stocks opened higher on Tuesday as investors scoured the market for beaten-down shares after Wall Street skidded to a 12-year low a day earlier.
* The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI rose 40.14 points, or 0.56 percent, to 7,154.92. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX added 4.46 points, or 0.60 percent, to 747.79. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC gained 9.64 points, or 0.69 percent, to 1,397.36.
