ENM: Nifty ends choppy session higher |

MUMBAI: Key indices ended choppy session higher on Wednesday led by gains in metals and oil&gas space. Second rung stocks closed marginally
lower.
Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 8458.53, up 31.24 points or 0.37 per cent. The index touched an intra-day high 8501.46 and low of 8373.24.
National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 2650.90, up 28.50 points or 1.09 per cent. The index touched an intra-day low of 2611.95 and high of 2655.70.
Second rung stocks also out of action. BSE Midcap Index was down 0.24 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index edged 0.59 per cent lower.
Biggest Sensex gainers were Reliance Infrastructure (5.79%), Tata Consultancy Services (4.44%), Jaiprakash Associates (4.43%), Hindalco Industries (3.89%) and Grasim Industries (3.52%).
Losers comprised ICICI Bank (-4.47%), HDFC (-3.47%), BHEL (-2.19%), State Bank of India (-1.83%) and Reliance Communications (-0.94%).
Market breadth on BSE showed 1434 declines against 1000 advances.
