in choppy trade, on bouts of short covering and bargain
hunting.

GOVERNMENT BONDS ------------------------
The 2018 bond yield at 6.45 percent, from previous close of
6.38 percent, after local media reports quoted government
sources as saying there was no immediate compulsion for the
central bank to cut rates, dealers said.
RUPEE --------
The rupee at 51.75/80 per dollar, stronger than previous
close of 51.95/97, tracking gains in other Asian currencies
versus the dollar, while a rise in the domestic stock market
also helped.

The benchmark five-year interest rate swap at 5.11/5.16
percent from previous close of 4.99/5.05.
CALL MONEY ------------
Call money rate at 4.05/10 percent, little changed from
previous close of 4.00/10, on ample cash in banking system.

The April contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India
at 15,238 rupees, down 30 rupees from the previous close.
